NEW MUSIC VIDEO – “Bitch, Don’t Kill My Vibe” by: Kendrick Lamar

Kendrick Lamar is one reason why lyricism has become somewhat popular in hip-hop again. Kendrick has released 3 pretty incredible mixtapes and has gradually improved with each project. All of that gradual growth came to fruition when Kendrick release a masterpiece of a debut album in good kid, m.A.A.d city. good kid, m.A.A.d city is a conceptual album based on what seems to be a day in the life of an average teenage boy in the crime-ridden city of Compton and all of the tough situations he finds himself in.

Bitch, Don’t Kill My Vibe” is the first track on the album and one of my personal favorites. The way Kendrick plays with his flow and has fun with the song while delivering a thought-provoking message along side a very catchy and almost-addictive hook is just genius.

This video is even better than the song because it seems to be celebrating the death of “Molly”. “Molly” is the colloquial term for a purer form of the drug “ecstasy” and it is unfortunately becoming a trend and is being celebrated in hip-hop. Kendrick Lamar has long been an advocate against drugs and he continue his advocacy in this video by wishing death upon this new trend of a drug.

The only negative about this video is the weak product placement to shamelessly plug Dr. Dre’s new product the “beats pill“.

Oh, and by the way, is Mike Epps ever not hilarious?!
