Kendrick Lamar’s good kid, m.A.A.d city was easily my favorite album of 2012 and the original recording of “Bitch, Don’t Kill My Vibe” was one of the highlights from the album for me. With that said, I am not feeling this track so much from my first few listens. I am a huge Jay-Z fan but for the past few years his lyricism, delivery, and just his presence of the mic has seemed to dwindle. All of that seemed more evident than ever on this track.
Kendrick Lamar was Kendrick Lamar on this song, he has been beyond consistent throughout his young career. He has a near flawless resume with a very large body of work for an artist who just released his debut album.
As a hip-hop purist I couldn’t help to be disappointed in this remix because the Erykah Badu vibe is apparent and I was hoping if Kendrick Lama did release a remix to this song that it would feature Andre 3000.
