Nas & AZ perform “Life’s A B*tch” at SXSW

Two of Queens-Bridge’s finest link up again at 2012’s SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas to perform the classic song “Life’s A B*tch” off of Nas‘ critically acclaimed 1992 debut album Illmatic. In my opinion Illmatic is the best hip-hop album of all-time because it just has 9 songs so the listener will not be bored easily. Each song is powerful, original, and had its own message. Another trait I prefer on albums is minimal features; especially in hip-hop music. Artists often seem dependent on collaborations.

Nas’ Illmatic only had one collaboration and that was “Life’s A B*tch” featuring AZ. The DJ Premier produced song has both Queens-Bridge natives reflecting on the many hardships that go on in life. The two artists also speak on the importance of living for the moment because tomorrow is not guaranteed.
